Crusaders
Upset American; Win 12-9
Sophomore Patricia Sutton and freshman Kristine Corkum both recorded hat tricks
and sophomore goalie Megan Orr made a string of crucial saves in the second half
to lead Holy Cross to a 12-9 conference win over American University on Saturday
afternoon at the Hart Astroturf Field. The Crusaders, who have now won three straight
and eight of their last 10 games, improve to 8-5 overall on the season and 4-1
in the Patriot League. American falls to 5-7 (3-1). Freshmen Nikki Bolduc, Amy
Archambault and Kaitlin Nangle all scored two goals each in the win.

The
Hawks had 11 different players find the net in the game with six scoring
multiple goals. Chaz Breitstadt (Dublin Ohio/ Wellington) led the way with three
goals and six assists. Steve Trocki (Braintree, Mass./ BC High) and Tim Armstrong
(Winchester, Mass./ Winchester) each scored four goals while Trocki added an assist.
Mike McLain (Milton, Mass./ Milton) tallied two goals and had two assists.

COLONIALS
DEFEATED IN CONFERENCE OPENER TO PLYMOUTH STATE 13-2
Plymouth State, now 2-1 on the season, used once again a stiff defense to defeat
the Colonials, allowing its only goal of the season thus far. Nicole Evans was
simply too much for PSU, as she scored three goals and dished out five assists
for the Cougars as the Panthers kept the game out of reach. Bethany Brown also
chipped in three goals as well.

Comes Back on New Hampshire, 14-9
In a battle of Wildcats, Munday has seven points and Kjellman scores four goals.
Northwestern's leader in points heading into the match -- brought the 'Cats back
into an 8-8 tie with two straight goals, then assisted on Kristen Kjellman's first
goal of the game at 17:05 to give Northwestern a 9-8 lead. After Albee scored
her third goal of the match off a feed from Leland at 18:34, Kjellman scored off
another assist from Munday at 22:43 to give Northwestern the lead for good.
