Overview

Star 2

Mass Elite is a competitive lacrosse club for girls in third grade through high school seniors. Founded in 1999, Mass Elite is the oldest girls lacrosse club in Massachusetts. For over twenty years, Mass Elite has offered young women the opportunity to compete with and against the best players in New England and all over the country.

Mass Elite provides year-round training through practices, tournaments and supplemental league play that caters to multi-sport athletes. The players that succeed in our program recognize that their skill and athletic development is directly proportionate to their commitment to Mass Elite. Below is a general program overview which outlines our practice, tournament and league play opportunities and commitments.

In addition to training, Mass Elite directors and year-of-graduation coordinators serve as a resource for our high school student-athletes as they navigate the college recruiting process.  We help our student-athletes understand the recruiting timeline, current NCAA regulations, and the student athlete’s steps throughout the process.  Mass Elite directors meet with student-athletes to discuss their specific processes and assist with college searches.

PRACTICES

Mass Elite players receive approximately 65 to 75 hours of practice each year. Goal keepers receive an additional 30 hours of position-specific training throughout the year. Players practice with their entire year of graduation. In order to increase convenience for all of our families, we host practices at a variety of high schools, athletic facilities, and indoor sports centers in Massachusetts. View general practice schedules by season below to get an idea of our practice locations throughout the year.  Click here to view our archived practice schedules from previous years.

TOURNAMENTS

Mass Elite attends both local and national events.  We attend tournaments that offer all formats including small-sided play (3v3, 4v4), full-field play (12v12) and those intended for recruiting.   Tournament selections are offered seasonally.  (Youth players will receive four seasons of tournament opportunities.  There are no tournament selections available to high school players in the spring as to avoid conflict with high school schedules and team commitments.)  Our tournaments are offered "à la carte" and are selected at the discretion of each participant.  We suggest that players participate in as many tournaments as their schedule allows.  In general, it is our recommendation that players select two to five tournaments a season.  Click here to view our archived tournament schedules to get an idea of the events we attend each season.

Because tournaments are offered "à la carte," rosters will fluctuate.  At the youth level, this is extremely important so that players get to know and play with everyone in their year of graduation.  Players will be coached by many of our extremely experienced and dedicated staff.  Our staff is made up of elite high school and college coaches, along with former Mass Elite players and college standouts.  We believe it is important to learn from all of our coaches each of whom will offer different feedback and instruction.

In the spring, league play is full-field 12v12. Mass Elite team members can register for supplemental league play on their seasonal tournament registration.

RECRUITING

Recruiting is a student-athlete driven process.  There are over 500 Division I, Division II and Division III colleges and universities that sponsor women’s lacrosse.  There truly is a home for everyone!

The timeline for recruiting depends on the readiness of the student-athlete.  There are no guarantees that a student-athlete will be recruited but rather it is a process that needs to be navigated with the eye towards maximizing the probability of success not certainty of success.

Mass Elite is committed to helping every student-athlete in our program as part of a shared responsibility between directors, coordinators, student-athletes and their families.  Mass Elite provides guidance throughout the process and answers questions as they arise.  We balance advocacy of players with maintaining our credibility with college coaches.
